ALMA’s Membership Lifecycle

The ALMA membership lifecycle is beautifully circular and mutually reinforcing. Students join seeking scholarships, mentorship, and their first foothold in healthcare. As they graduate and enter the workforce, they become non-physician professionals or physicians who benefit from our networking, continuing education, and career advancement opportunities. As their careers mature, these professionals become the mentors, board members, and advocates who guide the next wave of students. Retired physicians contribute their wisdom, open doors, and serve as living proof of what’s possible. Corporate members fuel the entire ecosystem with funding, internships, and job opportunities while gaining access to talented, mission-aligned professionals. Each member type depends on and elevates the others—creating a self-perpetuating cycle of opportunity, achievement, and giving back that has sustained ALMA for over 30 years.

The barrier isn’t talent—it’s access, affordability, and opportunity.

ALMA clears the path with scholarships, hands-on guidance, and connections to internships and careers.

Non Physicians
Non Physicians

These health professionals are overlooked when it comes to networking and career advancement.

ALMA gives you access to a supportive community, professional development, and real opportunities for growth.

Physician

You’ve built your practice, but navigating cultural competency, bilingual staffing, and community health challenges requires support you can’t find alone.

ALMA connects you with peers who share your mission, bilingual talent, and opportunities for collaboration and leadership.

Retired Physicians
Retired Physicians

Retired physicians want to give back and stay engaged, but they’re often isolated from the students and professionals who need them most.

ALMA gives you meaningful ways to mentor emerging professionals, share your wisdom, and shape the future of Latino healthcare.

Corporate partners want to champion healthcare equity and workforce development, but they’re disconnected from the grassroots organizations driving real change.

ALMA gives you a credible, effective way to champion diversity, support emerging talent, and demonstrate your commitment to healthcare equity.
