How We Got HereThree Decades of Transformative Work
Founded in 1993, ALMA was born from a simple truth: change doesn’t happen by accident—it requires vision, persistence, and relentless commitment. For three decades, we’ve done the difficult work of building a coalition that didn’t exist, creating pathways where there were only walls, and transforming Arizona healthcare one scholarship, one mentor, one career at a time. It took everything. It was worth everything.

Response to Arizona Government ERA restrictions for provision of healthcare to undocumented residents
Free Health Fairs were held in Central Phoenix, Guadalupe, Glendale, Maryvale, Mesa, Tempe, Nogales and Casa Grande. Uninsured & under Insured US citizens and undocumented residents were served.
