Since 1993, ALMA has awarded hundreds of scholarships and grants that don’t just cover tuition; they dismantle the single biggest barrier keeping talented Latino students out of healthcare careers. Every dollar we invest returns tenfold in the form of physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals who bring cultural competency, linguistic skills, and deep community understanding to underserved, and often overlooked, populations that desperately need them.

Scholarship Requirements
ALMA awards $2,500 scholarships to Arizona high school graduates enrolled in professional health programs at Arizona colleges and universities who demonstrate a commitment to becoming bilingual, culturally competent healthcare professionals serving Arizona’s Latino communities—applicants must submit a vita and personal statement detailing their background, academic success, and career motivation. Recipients are required to participate in a video interview and attend our December awards banquet to celebrate their achievement and join our mission driven cause to inspire the next generation.
We Pay it Forward
Providing Proof That Dreams Are Achievable
Through our Pay It Forward program, scholarship recipients return to Arizona high schools to show students exactly what it takes to pursue medicine—and prove that they can do it too. These conversations are more than inspirational; they’re revelatory, opening doors in the minds of students who had never considered healthcare as a possibility and igniting ambition that changes the trajectory of their lives.
